3 Generations- A Commissioned Drawing
Last year, I created a painting for True Rodriguez for her play In Defense of Glitter and Rainbows. A play that is co-produced by Jojo Brim. In honor of him, she requested a pencil portrait for his birthday as a surprise. A drawing representing 3 generations of Jojo, his father and his son Niko. Here is the final product. In Defense of Glitter and Rainbows
On Mother's Day, I surprised my mother with tickets to see the play In Defense of Glitter and Rainbows. Last year, the writer True Rodriguez, commissioned me to create a painting that embodied the essence of the feminine power in the characters she created. Although I did not get to see the play for its first run last year, I enjoyed what I learned it has evolved into. A story of family, womanhood, love, faith, strength and the protection of your own kind of magic.
The play is brought to life by the cast Jeannie Sol, Toni Benedict, Rob Vassilarakis, Jade Rain Vega, Carla Caraballo, Versai Rodriguez and Luis Echevarria III. Along with the stage direction of Andres Chulisi Rodriguez and the choreography of Keomi Tarver.
The play will be having their last run this weekend from June 10-12. Take a look at last week's sneak peak of their rehearsal recorded by executive producer Audrey Puente.
