In Defense of Glitter and Rainbows

On Mother's Day, I surprised my mother with tickets to see the play In Defense of Glitter and Rainbows. Last year, the writer True Rodriguez, commissioned me to create a painting that embodied the essence of the feminine power in the characters she created. Although I did not get to see the play for its first run last year, I enjoyed what I learned it has evolved into. A story of family, womanhood, love, faith, strength and the protection of your own kind of magic.

The play is brought to life by the cast Jeannie Sol, Toni Benedict, Rob Vassilarakis, Jade Rain Vega, Carla Caraballo, Versai Rodriguez and Luis Echevarria III. Along with the stage direction of Andres Chulisi Rodriguez and the choreography of Keomi Tarver. 

The play will be having their last run this weekend from June 10-12. Take a look at last week's sneak peak of their rehearsal recorded by executive producer Audrey Puente.

Reflecting on Art Expo New York

From April 14th through the 17th, I participated in Art Expo New York on Pier 94. It was my first time being part of an exhibition of this scale and having my own booth to display my work. I lucked out by getting a corner booth close to the cafe, lecture series area and this beautiful Buggatti car by Delahaye!

I've worked trade shows before from the production side but it was quite a different experience being an exhibitor. Thankfully my mother was there to help man the booth with me. Especially as I lost my voice on the final day. Here are some photos from the event.
