Climbing Ivy

On June 21st, the longest day of the year, I returned to my home of Queens to take part in the book launch and birth of the organization The Climbing Ivy Project. Both are the brainchild of Vivian "True" Rodriguez. The vision of the Climbing Ivy Project in True's words "is a women’s empowerment organization seeking to provide women with tools to transcend barriers & societal constructs." 

I lent my hand in support of this project by painting live for the event. The evening was filled with poetry, music, dance and testimonies of the difference True has made in the lives of young women. The type of young women this project was inspired by and created for.
